Show Notes

In this provocative episode, host Mitch Carson sits down with retired U.S. Air Force veteran and debut fiction author Christopher Choate. With 24 years of military service, a strategic role at the Pentagon, and a passion for writing, Choate brings a powerful blend of insight, wit, and satire to the conversation.

They explore his new sci-fi political satire, Apollo Wept—a bold trilogy that imagines a near-future mission to replace the Voyager probe’s plaque because it dares to show only two genders. Christopher shares how his military background shaped his worldview, why fiction gives him the freedom to critique today’s cultural absurdities, and how his writing takes aim at cancel culture, political overcorrection, and threats to personal liberty.

You’ll also hear:

  • What it’s like to serve as a Pentagon strategist

  • How absurdity inspires great satire

  • Why storytelling matters in defending cultural values

  • The fine line between freedom and forced compliance

  • His take on AI, China, COVID, and global conflict

This is a raw, honest, and sharply humorous discussion for anyone who values liberty, critical thought, and creative expression.

Coyote is a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel with nearly 40 years of military and federal service, known for his expertise in aviation and national defense strategy. As a Weapon Systems Officer, he flew the F-4 Phantom and F-15E Strike Eagle. At the Pentagon, he helped shape groundbreaking national defense strategies and integrated unmanned aircraft systems into modern warfare. He holds a Master’s in Systems Management and a Bachelor’s in Engineering Technology.

Now retired, Coyote is an avid marathoner, world traveler, and proud husband, father, and father-in-law. As an author, he channels his military insight and sharp wit into satirical critiques of modern society, aiming to challenge ideological shifts impacting Western culture. His work reflects the same clarity and precision he brought to military operations. Coyote’s life is a testament to service, resilience, and lifelong learning—an inspiring blend of discipline, humor, and strategic vision.
